Faith-Based Liaison Officer

The Faith-Based Liaison Officer acts as the primary intermediary between the police district and local religious institutions. Their role is centered on fostering mutual respect, ensuring safety during religious observances, and leveraging the influence of faith leaders to enhance community safety.

Some of their core responsibilities:

1. Clergy & Institutional Partnerships

  • Relationship Management: Establishes and maintains active partnerships with clergy and faith-based leadership across all denominations.

  • Regular Presence: Conducts periodic site visits to houses of worship to maintain a consistent department presence and open lines of communication.

  • Information Exchange: Relays critical information from religious leaders to relevant police personnel and vice versa.

2. Community Mobilization & Safety

  • Outreach Strategy: Distributes public awareness materials, community alerts, and crime prevention education directly through faith-based venues.
